new pics, new beginnings

2012 has been an eventful year to say the least. Our four kids have been such a blessing to us. P.J. continues to love his job at CJOS and will more than likely stay in the Navy for a couple more years. We opened a children’s clothing & photography boutique at the end of November called Cambria. It has been quite the experience. So far business has been great and we are so excited for what the New Year will bring.

I’ve been doing some really fun portraits in VA Beach and surrounding areas. I took some Fall portraits in Yorktown for a few great families. Last week I was fortunate to be able to photograph the Eisenhower Homecoming in Norfolk. Thousands of children got an early Christmas present. It was amazing. I also was able to squeeze in a wedding in San Diego for a very special couple. Other fun shoots have been local at our beach, the new studio, and other local spots. There is a lot of exciting things coming this January. A new blog, a fashion section for children, and more. We’re going to be at a couple of local bridal bazaars this February. Exciting stuff! Check back to see new pics.

We’re so grateful to the support of our family and friends. We’re also thankful for our military community on both coasts and in Germany as well. Our prayers are constantly with those who are deployed and to their families back at home. Thank you!

Happy New Year from the Cummings Family.

XOXO,
Micah

A & A

At the very end of our whirlwind San Diego trip I had the pleasure of photographing this couple. My cousin Adam and his girl Abi Joy. What a great pair! No doubt that these two are going to have a beautiful and happy life together. I’m so glad I was able to take pictures before we flew back East.

Here are some of my favorites of Adam and Abi. Don’t they just make you smile?

Kent and Kathy

On a quiet street in Virginia Beach at a house on the beautiful lake last week was a very special wedding. The bride and groom have a sweet love story that spans over decades. Their friends and family were all a part of the intimate and super fun wedding. Every detail was so thoughtful and sentimental. It was a wedding that I was grateful to be a part of. So thanks Kathy and Kent for allowing me to help you capture your wedding day memories. Can’t wait to hear about your honeymoon in the Outer Banks!

XOXO,
Micah

Myler Wedding

The Myler wedding was a special occasion for all. The wedding took place at Schloß Weitenburg, near Tübingen. The weather was great, whew! I’m so glad that these two decided to have a real wedding a few years later to celebrate their marriage. And what could be more romantic than getting married in a castle? It was a great way to capture the unique circumstances that military families live through. Andy will deploy in a week. Who knows what will happen after that. Did I mention that military wives are also saints? It’s part of our job description.
Thanks you two for letting me be a part of your day!

romance… military style

Those of us who married military men know the perks that come with the lifestyle. This fun couple married quickly upon receiving overseas orders to Germany. Now, they are having a wedding. I am so excited for the fun celebration next week at the castle. Here are some pics that we shot a couple of weeks ago…

Tamara and Ryan’s Disney Wedding

Last weekend was Tamara and Ryan’s Disneyland wedding in California. Disney does such a great job with creating a fairy tale ambience for a bride and groom. Tamara and Ryan were laughing and happy the entire day. I had so much fun working with you all. Thanks for making me a part of your day. It was a blast!

Sarah and Matt, Valley Center, CA

So I have had the pleasure of knowing Sarah and Matt since they were little because of my sister Lynnae. Sarah’s wedding fit her perfectly, from the unique center pieces, vintage dress, good music, and peacock feathers. Everyone at your wedding had such a great time, including me! Thank you for letting me hang out with you all. I wish you both all the happiness and know that you will have a wonderful and fun life together.

Christy and Greg, Nashville, TN

Christy and Greg, I am so glad you invited me to shoot your wedding in Nashville. It was perfect for you two. Aren’t you glad I forced you out in the 19 degree weather for some outside pics? I Had to take advantage of that gorgeous scenery. Who knew there was more to Nashville than the awesome music scene?
I had to remind myself that I was ‘working’ while shooting the reception. Sweet 80′s music! And of course, who could forget the serenade from the Navy boys?
I’ll miss you guys. Stay in touch…

Mary and Brad had a beautiful wedding at the Japanese Friendship Garden, in Balboa Park. Every detail of the wedding added the perfect elements for the photos. Rina did a wonderful job coordinating.
It was fun working with you both. And seeing old friends from high school! Mary, you looked gorgeous as always. Take care!

Keri and Nico, Newport, RI

We braved the freezing March Newport weather to get some shots outside, and it was well worth it! You can’t beat the gorgeous Newport beach atmosphere with the Pell bridge in the background.
Belle Mer was a great venue. Perfect for the Boston couple! The wedding party was tons of fun. Thanks for letting me be a part of your day.

Mel and Dan

Melissa and Dan were with out of doubt two of my favorite people to work with. They had such a fun wedding. The music was great (Mike Hogan is the best!), and the scenery was perfect. The skies were dark and we were able to capture some shots with boats in the background when the sun peaked through. There was even a helicopter that flew by during the ceremony! How fitting for Dan, who flies helicopters in the Navy.

I am so happy to have met you both. Congrats and best of luck in D.C…
